Ah, Labyrinth. To some of us, it’s more than just an 80′s kid movie. Besides the obvious appeal of muppets and dancing David Bowie, it’s also a treasure trove of costume and outfit ideas.

Disco Bloodbath by James St. James

Disco Bloodbath by James St. James

Does this book look familiar? If it does, you’re lucky. Disco Bloodbath is no longer being released, and can be bought on Amazon if you’re willing to fork out some cash. But don’t worry, it can still be bought under the name Party Monster (left). Which it should, be bought that it. Because you need to read this book.

Party Monster

Party Monster

The true story of the club kids and their leader Michael Alig is full of color, humor, and sadness. It manages to be well written while not losing the voice of author and narrator James St. James, reading seems more like listening to St. James telling the story than writing it, cracking jokes, going off on tangents and telling humorous anecdotes semi relevant to the main story, but in the end managing to wrap everything together.

For Fans Of: Club Kids, party and clubbing lifestyles, outrageous fashion, murder stories

Although even I admit my first day of school outfit does not look like I put too much time or effort into it, I did. Most of the time and effort was spent with imaginary clothing that I do not own, but my plan for the outfit came from the pages of Seventeen magazine, A shiny belt, jean shorts and a band tee, with a checkered cardigan. One trip to Target later and I had it.. sort of. It was the basic outfit, minus the cardigan, which drew me to the outfit in the first place. Want a visual? It’s somewhat like this:

Well.. atleast I don’t look like I’m trying too hard!
